AC United Advisory Council

Aiming to combat human trafficking in all forms in Alameda County.

Alameda County United Against Human Trafficking Advisory Council, or “AC United,” is a collaborative project led by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office and the Alameda County Social Services Agency.

Goal: AC United aims to:

  1. Increase services available to prevent and intervene in the human trafficking of Alameda County residents
  2. Close gaps in critical services for victims of human trafficking to increase victim identification, referral, and service.
  3. Enhance coordinationof public agency sponsored and community based sponsored awareness and outreach to educate Alameda County residents about human trafficking.

AC United has six working committees:

  1. Crisis intervention:Develops procedures that law enforcement, health systems, parents, schools, and other first responders can implement with the understanding that victims will be served in accordance with best practices.
  2. Housing Resources:Raises funds and increases the supply of all types of housing for human trafficking victims.
  3. Health Care/Mental Health:Ensures health providers implement identification and service response protocols and have a basic level of training and awareness for non-medical and medical professionals in a variety of health care settings.
  4. Prevention/Education: Provides prevention and awareness education and training to various audiences including schools, business, churches, and community groups.
  5. Justice/Advocacy: Develops and delivers trauma informed and victim-centered prosecutions, operations, and law enforcement practices aimed at increasing arrests of buyers/exploiters.
  6. Continuity of Care:Focuses on recovery and long-term stabilization of victims so they can lead productive lives beyond their exploitation.
